Two things: I’m not typing the people who identify with libertarianism but rather the philosophy itself; while there may be an overlap, there’s no reason why it should necessarily be so. A more productive poll for this scenario would be to ask libertarians what their MBTI type is, since there may be other political ideologies and philosophies that take priority over libertarianism.

In this poll ISTPs had a 0% score for Libertarianism (though small sample size)

ISTP was the only type for whom "middle of the road" was the top category

that sounds like a very libertarian thing to say tbh

strawberry crisis commented as follows on February 11th @ 08:58:07am:

If there were such a thing as an ISTP political ideology, it would be libertarianism: calling for deregulation and freedom ad nauseam from the most blatantly meddlesome entity that people can point at.

libertarianism and perceiving literally overlap by definition

It sounds like the one thing agreed upon is that Libertarianism is not a Feeler movement, and probably arises from an Intuitive approach.  It is about shedding bureaucracy and nonsensical rules, rejection of protectionism of both the status quo as well as the vulnerable ones.

One of the problems with all these political categories is that the leaders and followers of the movement are being conflated - not a single type, nor with all the same motivations.

completely free markets and the non-aggression principle are some of the most P/9 concepts dude, some 0.25 J ennea 5 kid might be an ancap for like half a year because 5s r always into some obscure shit but that doesn't change the idea and its principles, again this page is about libertarianism not libertarians themselves or ppl who saw like 3 stefan molyneux videos and now call every non-anarchist a low IQ retard

phsc commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:56:21am:

I will do my research, and yeah it's clearly not 1 point for J in the letters, but a 0.25 or 0.5 could still pass, cognitive functions is what I'm talking mostly about tho, and not always 9, 5s tend to be into that kind of stuff, actually most people who defend these kind of ideas I've met were 5s and taking in the free-market libertarianism we see in politics around the world there are a decent amount of 3s who want to get rich, I like in Brazil and here there has been a lot of things related to that becoming popular, MBL(Movimento Brasil Livre, in english, Free Brazil Movement) has a lot of supporters who are 3 and 7, but again this is just data coming from my mind, but what I think really fucks it up is INTJs that are 6w5 or 5w6 with strong 6 wings or 1w9 or strong 1 or something like that, but this is considering the majority so I guess if we consider libertarianism it is probably ENTP or even maybe ESTP.

Teru Mikami commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:45:49am:

anarcho-capitalism isn't a good example of extreme libertarianism either, that's pure anarchism instead

Teru Mikami commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:43:16am:

i agree that most INTJs who are agaisn't drugs are stupid but ancaps are P and 9 as fuck bro

0
phsc commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:39:40am:

I'd say most ancaps are INTJ or INTP, while minarchists and libertarians who still defend a pretty decent state ENTP, other types I think could be considered are ISTP and ESTP.

Not voting yet as I am a member of many libertarian groups and I might try to type some people from it and get some data.

By the way, just give a INTJ some libertarian books and he is probably changing his mind, most INTJs who are agaisn't drugs are just stupid and INTJs are really individualistic and want freedom for themselves so if they don't have control I guess they like libertarianism?

Also the free market is the best form of order!

"yo guys... i think we should legalize drugs because doing drugs is a choice (limiting choices is bad) and if you decriminalize it i bet crime rates would go down" -> INTJ

Teru Mikami commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:19:24am:

no one said there aren't, a political philosophy that's centered around freedom and individualism is not J nor organized

0
LadyX commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:12:02am:

Plenty of J's want the freedom from regulation to be able to create and run their own businesses.  They are also more outraged by disorganization and meaninglessness of rules and want to reduce restrictions in order to do things in a new and better way.

that's like typing communism ISFP cause it's fucking dumb and doesn't work, the result doesn't change what it's about in theory

kawaii commented as follows on February 9th @ 08:06:49am:

The result of libertarianism is not freedom and liberty though, but the power shifting to the rich even more
